A nine-hour, graduate-level program for students of all ages who wish to establish and increase their knowledge of the humanities.
LRTC courses deal especially with issues such as justice, authority, the individual, diversity, and globalization. Reading, viewing, and writing assignments cover such variegated subjects as the Roman empire, shipwrecks and Western literature, and the role of work in people's lives yesterday and today.
The Graduate Certificate in Liberal Arts was designed in part with Commonwealth Campus students in mind. You do not have to be admitted for graduate study to earn the Certificate! Instead, you merely need to earn nine hours of credit -- three regular courses -- consisting of IDST 5014 and 5024 (both offered on-line) as well as a third course of your choice.
If you are enrolled in regular graduate study at Tech or one of its extension centers, you may wish to take a third course face-to-face.
Contact Professor Michael Saffle for additional information about the LRTC program.
